ID.me first. Document uploads only after approval.

The preferred path is to verify military or veteran status through an approved ID.me integration. Until that is available, Next Mission Digital will use only sponsor-approved referral or review methods.

Preferred flow

  • Applicant starts interest request.
  • Applicant verifies through ID.me when available.
  • We store only verification status metadata.
  • No DD214 email attachments.

Fallback review

  • Only after sponsor/legal review.
  • Encrypted upload, not email.
  • Limited reviewer access.
  • Retention and deletion rules required.

Disabled veteran proof

  • Use only what a sponsor-approved program rule actually requires.
  • VA benefit or service verification letters may be acceptable later.
  • No medical records, diagnosis details, or password-related information.
  • Do not store disability percentage unless it is required and approved.
Do not email DD214s, VA letters, disability-rating documents, medical records, passwords, or account recovery codes.
